对话美国东北大学的郭桐菲学姐
岁月荏苒，时光如梭。上海美达菲学校已经培养了三届毕业生，他们已奔赴世界各地，继续着他们精彩的求学之路。对于同在上海美达菲度过许多春秋冬夏的学弟学妹来说，学长学姐走过的路有许多可以借鉴和学习的地方。今天我们采访了正在美国东北大学学习，从我校IB班毕业的郭桐菲学姐，让她给大家介绍下她的留学生活吧。
How time flies. Shanghai Macduffie School has trained three graduates, and they have traveled all over the world to continue their wonderful road to study. For many schoolmates who have spent many spring, autumn, winter, and summer in Shanghai Macduffie, there are many places for seniors to learn from. Today we interviewed Guo Tongfei, who is studying at Northeastern University in the United States and graduated from IB class of our school.Let her introduce you to her study abroad life.
问：现在就读哪所大学，读的什么专业呢？
Which university are you studying now and what are you studying?
答：我现在就读的是东北大学的计算机和设计conbine专业，也就是Cs&Design。
I am studying computer and design combine at Northeastern University, which is Cs & Design.
东北大学被U.S. News评为一级国家级大学，这代表了美国大学的最高水平，常年名列美国大学TOP 50。在2020年U.S. News校企合作/实习（Coops/Interships）排名中，东北大学同样位列美国第1位。学校的工程学、计算机科学、药剂学、国际商务等专业均位列全美TOP 50。
Northeastern University has been rated as a national university by U.S. News, which represents the highest level of American universities, and has been ranked in the TOP 50 of American universities all year round. In the 2020 U.S. News school-enterprise coops / interships ranking, Tohoku University also ranks first in the United States. The school's majors in engineering, computer science,pharmacy, and international business are among the top 50 in the United States.
问：当初为什么想来这个大学？记得当时还有世界排名更靠前的加州大学圣塔芭芭拉分校分校也给你发了录取通知书。
Why did you want to come to this university? I remember that at the time, the University of California, Santa Barbara, which ranked even higher in the world, also sent you an admission notice.
答：因为这所学校给我颁发了奖学金，而且私立学校的荣誉学院教学条件和机会都会更好更多，所以就选择了这里。
Because this school awarded me a scholarship, and the private school's honorary college has better teaching conditions and opportunities, so I chose here.

问：从中国到这里读书是怎么习惯的？
How do you get used to studying here from China?
答：还挺好的，因为高中学的是IB课程，感觉大学和高中区别不大甚至没高中难。
It's pretty good, because my high school is an IB course. I feel that there is not much difference between university and high school, and it is not as difficult as high school.
问：在这里上课是什么样的？转专业好转吗？
What is it like to have a class here? Is it better to change professions?
答：我们都是小班制教学，转专业也很方便。
We are all teaching in small classes, and it is easy to change majors.

问：在这里生活方便吗？有什么好玩的？
it convenient to live here? what can you play for fun?
答：波士顿生活很方便，没有驾照可以乘坐地铁去任何地方。还有很多不错的餐厅，物价相对纽约也要便宜。
Living in Boston is very convenient, you can take the subway to any place without a driver's license. There are also many good restaurants that are cheaper than New York.
问：作为中国学生如何融入当地的生活方式？
As a Chinese student，how do you integrate into the local lifestyle?
答：多参加社团会找到归属感，放开自己多交外国朋友会让你很快融入进这个圈子。
Joining more clubs will help you find a sense of belonging, letting yourself go abroad and making more foreign friends will make you quickly join the circle.

问：当时是怎么被录取的，需要哪些硬实力和软实力？
How did you get admitted, and what hard and soft power was needed?
答：最重要的是GPA和标化成绩高，这是硬性的标准，然后一定一定要有丰富且有意义的活动，美国学校比较看重活动背景。
The most important thing is the high GPA and standardization scores. This is a rigid standard, and then there must be rich and meaningful activities. American schools value the background of the activities.
问：作为学姐有没有什么祝福想说的？
Are there any blessings you want to say ?
答：希望大家都可以录到想去的大学和专业，马到成功。
I hope that everyone can be accepted by the university and major you want to go to.
